The EDOT Third Street Commercial Corridor Facade Improvement Program is focused on addressing the perception of blight by improving the overall appearance of the Third Street Commercial Corridor within the Bayview District of San Francisco. Through generous grant funding from SFOEWD, community businesses and property owners receive design and construction services to improve their storefronts. These services include exterior painting, signage, lighting, securitry and other design improvements that promote pedestrian-centric spaces and restore and preserve historic and architectural character and integrity of the Bayview Community. By bettering the appearance of building storefronts, the program serves to improve the economic viability of this Commercial Corridor. These small changes also often inspire improvements to neighboring businesses.
